GROUP CLASSES

January 2016 :are you due in February or March? Sign up for the January class to prepare for delivery and postpartum- email me at maria.e.hilliker@gmail.com 

We will cover topics like:  how to have a healthy third trimester, anatomy of labor and delivery, birthing, preparation for your relationship, creating support systems,  buying baby care items, nursing, and postpartum recovery

*A guest speaker, a certified nurse midwife, Theodorah DeFrancesco, CNM, will also join us for one of the classes in the group series

Cost for 4 session group class -$130

INDIVIDUAL CLASSES 

Typically a six course of weekly meetings allows enough time to cover the information you wish to learn and discuss. Meetings are usually scheduled in one and a half  hour (or two-three hour sessions if its a group).  

Healthy Pregnancy Classes - Two sessions for moms prior to 25 weeks- $45

Childbirth Preparation Classes- Six sessions beginning around 32 weeks- $200

Postpartum visit- 1 visit - no charge

Breastfeeding support - additional sessions can be scheduled as needed*

*Breastfeeding support- I will do my best to be available when you need help in your home and would like to schedule a BF consult. Due to the unpredictability of your baby's arrival I will suggest other resources and ways to access help if I am unavailable. Cost is determined at the time of service as needs can vary so much.

If you decide you would like to do your birth preparation with Native Birth then we will map out our schedule and topics to cover during our first visit. Topics covered include but are not limited to :

  • Healthy pregnancy- what to expect in your routine OB visits, diet, exercise, and emotional wellness
  • Massage and mindfulness
  • Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, birth, postpartum healing, and breastfeeding
  • Knowing when its labor and the stages of labor
  • Your expectations for labor and birth
  • developing your birth & immediate postpartum preferences and support team
  • Coping with discomfort in labor and birth- explore both non-medication/medication options 
  • How to communicate with caregivers and support persons
  • Finding meaning in the experience of pregnancy, labor and birth, and going home as a family
  • Newborn care and baby care items
  • Breastfeeding support and education
  • Attachment parenting
